Vortex Optics named Official Range Officer Sponsor for the 2019 National Rifle League Season
Yorba Linda, CA – National Rifle League (NRL), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a range of outdoors-related public interest activities, is pleased to announce that Vortex Optics is coming on to sponsor Range Officers (RO) at all national-level precision rifle matches during its 2019 Season. To show appreciation for the work of the ROs, Vortex has begun working closely with the NRL, so that each RO receives a custom shirt that he or she may choose to wear during the match during the 2019 Season. Not only does Vortex Optics get its logo displayed prominently on the shirts, it also allows its competitors to quickly identify the key individuals at each stage, within a match, helping to run the course of fire. In addition, Vortex will be working with the NRL to recognize and award a Top RO at each match.
Vortex Optics is a leading brand in the optics market with a complete line of premium binoculars, riflescopes, spotting scopes, rangefinders, and related accessories. The company recognizes that hunting, shooting, home defense, our military, and law enforcement are not just hobbies, rather are essential and important. The lifestyle these individuals live are showcased via #VortexNation!
Range Officers are no different in this lifestyle, as they are essential and important to precision rifle matches. ROs help make competitions possible, holding a variety of important responsibilities. Starting from making sure the competitor remains first and foremost safe; next briefing the competitor and ensuring that he or she understands the course of fire, as intended by the Match Director and keeping the stage consistent. Keeping time utilizing a shot timer, spotting impacts, and keeping competitors’ scores; to maintaining the flow of the squad in an organized and smooth fashion, is essential. These individuals strive to be fair without any prejudice for or against any competitor, and have a good attitude to help make it the best match possible.
“NRL is pleased to be partnered with Vortex Optics for the 2019 season. In working with the team, they asked how they could best support within this precision rifle community. Knowing that Vortex continuously strives to make the best possible experience for its community, we knew they would be key in helping to find ways to gain interest in more outstanding ROs, and sharing appreciation for them,” stated Travis Ishida, Co-founder, NRL. “Without hesitation, we began sharing ideas on getting started. The extreme passion they share makes us honored to work with them.”
“One of the great things about the shooting community is the unconditional support we show each other to help continue the growth of our sport,” stated Nick Laufenberg, Vortex Optics. “We all love and appreciate those that volunteer their time to aid in this effort. We are proud to give back to those who give their time to all of us. On behalf of Vortex Optics as well as the rest of the community, thank you.”
NRL will host 17 national level precision rifle matches, and the NRL Championships will be on December 6-8 in Texas, where Vortex will be sponsoring all ROs with a custom shirt, awarding a Razor HD 12×50 binocular to a Top RO, and supporting with product for competitors to select off the prize table, at each of the 18 matches.
