2021 Northern Lakes Classic

NRL is excited to be back in Minnesota! Aaron Menze and his amazing team are working hard to bring you an incredible COF and competitor experience in this upcoming 2-Day National match scheduled July 23-25, 2021, on the beautiful Rush Lake Range. He has been hosting NRL Border War matches that sell out fast, so if you are interested in this fun event do not hesitate to secure your match slot. The Match Fee includes Saturday Lunch and Sunday Hog Roast.

Course of fire description:
Target ranges will generally be 900 yards or less, however be prepared for a limited number of rounds that may exceed 1200 yards. There will be positional shooting from natural structures as well as staged props at ranges that do not exceed 900 yards.
Prizes and trophies:
Trophies will be provided, per NRL guidelines.
Cash payout will be: $500 top shooter; $400 second; $300 third; $200 fourth; $100 fifth.
The weather is unpredictable and could be hot or cold and rainy. So, make sure you have appropriate clothing and gear too support you. Take note, there will be water coolers or water bottles on the shooting lines as well as portable restrooms.
–Special Note: Please wear a blaze orange hat or vest to let others know you wish to social distance. Social distancing is a personal choice and is not RLR’s responsibility to enforce. If you are concerned for you safety and you feel there is a real threat to your well-being, it is recommended that you stay home.
Your match fee is your daily member donation that makes you a range member allowing you to access the range grounds and conduct your activities within limits as a member. If law enforcement or some other governmental agency or authority comes to the range during you visit, it is encouraged that you be respectful and make it known that you are a range member exercising your rights and freedoms. There is a No Trespassing sign with the legalese at the entrance of the range letting any and all enforcement agencies know that they must meet certain criteria to enter the property. As a range member, you have been granted that right of egress and conduct you self accordingly.

How to get to the range: 49899 Co Hwy 54, New York Mills, MN 56567
- From Perham (coming from the North and West), take state Hwy 78 south to Co Hwy 54 then turn left. The range will be on your left.
- From New York Mills (coming from the East), take Co Rd 67 south then turn right on Co Rd 54. The range will be on your right.
- From Battle Lake (from the South and West) take State Hwy 78 north to Co Rd 54 then turn right. The range will be on your left.
- From Deer Creek/Alexandria (from the South and East) take State Hwy 106 north to Co Rd 52 then left to Co Rd 67 north to Co Rd 54 then left. The range will be on the right.

Friday, July 23rd:
The range will be open for limited practice shooting on Friday, July 23rd, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Please take note that 100 yard bay will be open all day, but the long range fields may not be available due to the preparations for the match.
The evening of Friday, July 23rd there will be a meet and greet social gathering with outdoor fire for shooter to interact with each other outside of the range clubhouse. If the weather is hot, the AC will be on in the clubhouse. Match sign is encouraged but may be completed Saturday morning.
Saturday, July 24th:
Expectations for shooters on the morning of the match: sign in 7:30-8:30 am, Safety brief 8:45 am, 9:00 am match starts. It is highly encouraged to be checked in as early as possible. Match round count will not exceed 100 for the first day and 80 for the second day. Depending on the weather, there will either be a brief intermission during the COF to take a Lunch Break (cost was included in the match fee) or lunch will be served on the shooting line to keep the match flow moving.
Sunday, July 25th:
The second day of the match will begin with the same starting times as Saturday. Award ceremony will follow the conclusion of the match.
The evening of the 25th, there will be a Hog Roast and Corn feed (as long as the corn is ready) along with an outside fire again. This will be a social event to interact with fellow competitors.
