2017 Idaho Shamrock Shootout successful start to National Rifle League’s inaugural season

The Precision Rifle Shooters of Idaho put on a successful match that signals a positive outlook for the rest of the NRL season

Santa Ana, CA – The National Rifle League (NRL), a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a range of outdoors-related public interest activities, sanctioned the first national-level match of their inaugural season, the 2017 Idaho Shamrock Shootout presented by MGM Targets, on March 18th-19th in Vale, Oregon.

The sold-out, 2-day match was held on Snake River Sportsman Range, and co-directed by Nate Lauerman and Jack Wilson of the Precision Rifle Shooters of Idaho (PRSID) rifle club. The 2017 Idaho Shamrock Shootout featured 20 courses of fire designed to test competitors’ abilities in long-range precision rifle shooting accuracy, adaptation to environmental factors, and problem solving.

The match concluded with an awards ceremony that featured over $30,000 worth of prizes and certificates. Jon Pynch earned the title of 1st place champion, which became his first national-level match title of his career. With Nick Gadarzi and Jake Vibbert placing 2nd and 3rd, these top 3 competitors made history as the first champions of the NRL. Other notable awards such as the Sportsmanship Award was awarded to Fiona York for her competitiveness and positive attitude throughout the match, and the Top Military/LEO awarded to Tim Milkovich.

A high level of professionalism, sportsmanship, and respect was presented throughout the 2017 Shamrock Shootout as participants, match directors, range officers, and spectators expressed their appreciation for the successful match. “During the match weekend, several of you have come up to me thanking me for creating the NRL” stated Travis Ishida, President of the NRL. “Although I truly appreciate your words of kindness none of this would have ever happened without the help, guidance, support, and encouragement from not only our executive team and board of directors, but all of you. Together we all made this happen, and this is only the beginning. From here, the NRL is only going to get stronger and grow into the professional league of our sport’s wants and desires. So, to all of you I say thank you. Thank you a million times over for making a dream, an idea come true.”
